Skint Print's Famous Four Step Guide to supplying artwork
1. Size
Make sure you are supplying artwork in the correct size. The exact dimensions of each product are specified on each product page (under “Description), along with a PDF template. Here is a check list of al the sizes we offer:
Business Cards - 55mm x 85mm
Compliment Slips – 99mm x 210mm
Letterheads - 210mm x 297mm
A6 - 105mm x 148mm
DL - 99mm x 210mm
A5 - 148mm x 210mm
A4 - 210mm x 297mm
A3 - 297mm x 420mm
A2 - 420mm x 594mm
A1 - 594mm x 841mm
A0 - 840mm x 1188mm
2. Bleed
It is essential that you add a minimum of 2mm bleed around your artwork. For example, you would supply A6 at a minimum of 109mm x 152mm. This is for cutting purposes. Again, this is illustrated on the PDF template which we have provided for each product.
You can choose to include crop marks on your PDF artwork if you wish but this is not a requirement. However, we will reject any files without bleed (unless they are on a plain white background) and ask you to re-supply your artwork.
Please also think about "quiet area" (i.e. the space between the edge of the page and any text or items on the page). Ideally you will leave at least 5mm between the edge of the page and any text or items which you don’t intend to bleed off the edge.
3. File: PDFs
Please make sure your artwork PDF meets the following basic, industry standard requirements for commercial printing:
4. Uploading
Our website allows you to upload a maximum of two PDF files per product at a maximum of 50mb each. In the unlikely event that your PDFs are larger than this, don’t worry. Proceed with your order and we will email you to arrange transfer of your PDF using a different method, such as Dropbox or WeTransfer.
Ideally you will supply a single PDF with multiple pages, or otherwise name your two files in a meaningful way (i.e. “inner.pdf” and “outer.pdf).
Remember...
Don't worry! Everthing we receive is checked by a human being, so if something is drastically wrong with your PDF then we will let you know.
